Lamp Shades

Lamp shades come in all sizes, shapes and colors. Just about every style that you could possibly think of already exists in the world of lamp shades in one form or another. Lamp shades are made from every kind of material that you can image, from the glass lamp shades (a glass lamp shade can also refer to a beautiful and elaborate stained glass lamp shade that projects beautiful patterns from the light inside) to the fabric lamp shades to the silk lamp shades to country lamp shades made from leather or hide. It seems as though every kind of lamp shade has already been invented, but people keep on adding their own new designs making new types of custom lamp shades (like the Uno lamp shades).

A lamp shade is the part of a lamp that is most likely to break as it is usually made of cloth that can be bent or punctured and it takes up a larger surface area and volume than the rest of the lamp (this is usually the case, though not always). Fortunately, it is a simple task to change the appearance of a lamp by getting a replacement lamp shade (besides the replacement cloth lamp shades, replacement glass lamp shades are also easy to order or to buy from stores). All you have to do is take off the broken lamp shade and put on the next; there is generally no kind of latch or anything holding the lamp shade on, instead gravity does the work of keeping the lamp shades and the lamps together.

There are more complicated kinds of lamp shades in sizes from big to small, with the chandelier lamp shades being among the largest and the most expensive varieties of lamp shades (particularly if you choose to spring for a stained glass or crystal chandelier lamp shade), and mini lamp shades bringing around the lower end of the scale with discount lamp shades that anyone can afford for their tiniest lamps. Lamp shades are also a collector's item for many people, with the styles of lamp shades from past eras being valued in the hundreds of dollars, even thousands for some kinds of rare Victorian lamp shades that were produced in limited qualities and only used for old style gas lights or kerosene lights. People continue to invent new kinds of lamp shades and to put every kind of new character and design on them that they can think of. Whatever kinds of interests you have or whatever personal style you adhere to, there is certainly a lamp shade that is perfect for you.
