Rustic lighting refers to all kinds of lighting implements that are designed in such a way as to give people a rustic feeling. This kind of lighting is most frequently used for cabins (as in rustic cabin lighting) and in situations where people want to make a place have the style of an old timey cabin or hunting lodge or the like. Most of the rustic table lamps and other rustic lighting solutions that are available to buy today are basically the same kinds of electric lamps as most ordinary lamps. In fact, many rustic lamps are essentially just ordinary lamps with some kind of rusty looking metal and old fashioned seeming design. When you consider this, you have to realize the in most cases when you go with a rustic light fixture or rustic light fixtures you aren't really using genuine rustic lighting but modern lighting with a rustic visual style.
Rustic outdoor lighting, rustic hanging lights, rustic track lighting; all of these are identified as rustic primarily because they use rustic looking materials or because they are composed partly of things such as antlers or engraving and small details and metal work or wood work of bears and various animals. While many of the people who lived in remote parts of the country and in many cases built their own furniture were skilled craftsmen, it is hard to say how many of them would take the time to make sure that every rustic floor lamp or rustic table lamp had that kind of detailed craftwork on them. You can even get rustic pendant lighting these days: small electric lights that hang down within a structure that is designed to evoke a rustic feeling. It seems that to make a lamp floor rustic, all you need to do is carve some pictures of animals into it and maybe attach a couple antlers around the lamp shade.
Cabin rustic outdoor lighting is also a big part of the rustic lighting phenomenon, with rustic mica outdoor lighting providing light for all of your outdoor grilling and other activities. In a pinch, if you want to have rustic lighting for your cabin and you do not want to spend a lot of money, you can always try getting some kind of standard wooden lighting implement and adapting it to your style by carving the design that you want on it yourself or by attaching whatever you want to it to give it a more rustic feel, and this may help you come up with a rustic lighting idea that is best suited to the design of your particular cabin.
