Task lighting refers to those kinds of lighting that are used on desks (desk lamps, etc.) and in office and public areas to make it possible for people to go about their business and perform that duties that are involved with them doing their jobs. Task lamps often refer to the kinds of small desk lamps that are used in office buildings around the world. Everyone knows this kind of task lamp, even if they just think of them as "desk lamps" and don't think to call them task lights. A task light is usually based around a fluorescent bulb, because fluorescent bulbs do not produce a lot of heat and they provide enough light to get the various tasks of the work day done without using up a lot of power. Power consumption is a big issue with considering task lamp parts because a great number of similar pieces of task lighting are often used in the same area and the aggregate cost of providing electricity to all of those task lighting set ups can be quite expensive if you use a power hungry variety of lamp.
There are other forms of task lighting, however. Today it is possible to buy an LED task lamp from companies such as Tensor task lights, Halley task light, Infinity L.E.D. task light and so on; these lights, such as the Infinity Ultra task light by Gerber, are a form of task full spectrum lights that provide a full spectrum light closer to the kind of light produced by the sun. This can be easier on the eyes and can help to put people in a better mood during the times of the year that people are most often affected by seasonal affective disorder. For these reasons it may be better to go with one of the new LED forms of task lighting than the traditional task lighting solutions such as the Gooseneck fluorescent task lighting. Other kinds of devices such as the task force flash light or the 5000 degree task lamp are more personal buys that you may want to get for yourself if you need specific task lighting for a specific situation.
Depending on whether you are buying task lighting for a large group of people (say for the employees of a business) or for yourself, you will have different priorities. No matter what the situation though, today's market provides a task lighting solution that you will be able to use no matter what kind of job you are engaged in.
